About Me
My name is Madeline Schnitzer, and I am an aspiring architect/interior architect/interior designer. This portfolio was created to showcase some of my hard work, which I will submit to colleges and universities in hopes of getting accepted into architecture programs.
My Story
I have always had a creative drive. I enjoy anything that has to do with arts and crafts, DIY-ing, and decorating. I also have a great interest in creating aesthetically pleasing, functional, and organizational spaces. Throughout the years, I have learned that I enjoy being in a setting where I can have creative freedom and use my skills to invent new ideas, concepts, etc. I love applying my own ideas and designs to my work and approaching problems that allow for creativity. I am a very detail-oriented person and enjoy putting my own spin and creative touch on anything I create or participate in.
Heading into high school, I initially wanted to pursue a college degree and a career in interior design due to my love for design and my constant bedroom “makeovers”. During my freshman year, I took an art class and ended up taking a few more throughout my sophomore, and junior years as I absolutely love art and it always has felt like a form of therapy for me. I also decided to take an architectural design course because it was the closest thing I could find to interior design. I instantly fell in love with the class and took it for three years in total (5 semesters), until I began dual enrollment at my community college. This class ultimately sparked my interest in architecture, and I am now considering it as my college major.
